The Board of Trustees supports the work of Althea and provides mission-based leadership and strategic governance.

Specific Board Member responsibilities include:

​

Leadership, governance and oversight

  • Serving as a trusted advisor to the Spiritual Director as she develops programs and partnerships, as well as supporting staff/volunteers when needed.

  • Reviewing outcomes and metrics created by Althea for evaluating its impact.

  • Approving Althea's annual budget, audit reports, and material business decisions; being informed of, and meeting all, legal and fiduciary responsibilities. 

  • Serving on committees or task forces and taking on special assignments. 

  • Representing Althea to stakeholders; acting as an ambassador for the organization. 

  • Ensuring Althea’s commitment to a diverse board and staff that reflects the community we serve.

Fundraising

As Althea’s community grows, Board Members will help the organization reach its fundraising goals. 

​

Board terms/participation

Althea Board Members commit to attending our monthly Board Meetings, as well as be a steady presence in our community during their tenure. 

​

Qualifications

At Althea, we highlight holistic, sacred leaders who are passionate about personal and systemic change. We are looking for diverse, moral leaders with possible experience in law, business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. (Any and all backgrounds are welcome!)
 

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • A knack of cultivating and growing relationships

  • Savvy diplomatic skills and a natural affinity for cultivating relationships and persuading, convening, facilitating, and building consensus among diverse individuals 

  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the planet.
