On Feb. 5, 6:00-9:00 pm, “Mariposa: Embracing Wholeness” resumes it’s First Wednesday Diversity Dialogues with a program of personal stories.

Panel: “Love is Love is BEAUTIFUL!”

For Valentine’s inspiration, come and hear the personal stories of the long-term relationships of these three same-sex couples:  

• Judith Witten, a past president of the Althea Board of Trustees and one of our prayer leaders, and Marilyn Leedy — who will celebrate 32 years together in 2020, but had to wait until 2017 to be legally married

• Darrell Johnson, who is the Althea board member overseeing building maintenance and also our wonderful community song leader, and Jason Hernandez, who runs the soundboard for our Sunday services — who met in October of 2000 at an LGBTQ chorus retreat

• Mo McGowan, General Manager for Sage Singers, a chorus for LGBTQ elders, and Jan Pilkinton, who is an active member and singer for the same chorus — who met in 1991 and were married in 2014
