2026 Tai Chi Qi Gong request-3.jpeg

Moving Meditation is a sacred practice inspired by the gentle wisdom of tai chi and qigong, inviting you into a deeper awareness of the Life within you.

Through conscious breathing, intentional movement, and the awakening of your inner energy (chi), we enter a flowing experience of peace, balance, and divine alignment. Each movement becomes a prayer in motion - an opportunity to center the mind, nourish the body, and uplift the spirit.

This class is designed for all levels. No prior experience is needed, only a willingness to be present and receive.

Please wear comfortable clothing and flexible footwear that allows ease of movement.

Come as you are… and move as the Spirit within you guides.

Mondays, July at 6:30 p.m. in the library.

$12 per participant, per class.

Barb Granica is a certified personal trainer who has infused the practices of Tai Chi and Qi Gong into her offerings. She seeks to simplify forms so that all may enjoy the benefits of these healing arts.

6 Epic and Important Stories.

Every great theatre festival begins with stories. But the most memorable festivals begin with something even more enduring: a place where those stories are welcomed, nurtured, and allowed to flourish. For the Lavender Hill Cultural District Theatre Festival, that place is the Althea Center for Engaged Spirituality.

The Althea Center is more than a building. It is a sanctuary of possibility. Within its walls, people from every walk of life are invited to gather in a spirit of openness, compassion, curiosity, and hope. It is a place where differences are embraced rather than feared, where dialogue triumphs over division, and where community is built one conversation, one gathering, and one shared experience at a time.

Those ideals are the very heartbeat of this festival.

The Lavender Hill Cultural District Theatre Festival exists to celebrate stories that matter—stories of resilience, courage, identity, justice, love, loss, and triumph. They are stories that preserve history, challenge assumptions, and remind us of our shared humanity. They invite us not only to witness another person’s journey but to discover something about ourselves along the way.

That mission could not have found a more fitting home than the Althea Center.

July 17, 18 & 19 • July 24, 25 & 26, 2026

Here, theatre becomes more than entertainment. It becomes an act of engagement. Every performance is an invitation to listen more deeply, to feel more fully, and to imagine a world where every voice is heard and every person belongs. Audiences arrive as strangers and leave connected by the universal language of storytelling.

The partnership between the Althea Center and the Lavender Hill Cultural District Theatre Festival reflects a shared belief that art has the power to transform communities. Together, they create a space where creativity flourishes, compassion grows, and difficult conversations become opportunities for understanding.

As the lights dim and each performance begins, remember that you are part of something larger than a festival. You are part of a community that believes stories can change hearts, that understanding can overcome fear, and that hope is strongest when it is shared.

Join Us - Whether you attend one performance or immerse yourself in the entire Festival, you’ll discover stories that entertain, enlighten, provoke, and inspire. Every production offers a unique perspective; together they form an extraordinary celebration of the transformative power of live theatre.
