BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Treasurer
Before retiring in 2013, David had worked for over 30 years in banking and finance, specifically in the areas of consumer and corporate lending, collections, and financial management. Being in nature is what drives and empowers David’s spirit. He has been a member of Althea since 2017. The strong feeling of community, the opportunities for involvement and contributing to the community, and the Sunday Service messages that have had a significant impact on his own spiritual growth, are what attracted him to Althea. Currently serving as Treasurer, David wants to ensure financial stability and the accurate management and reporting of all revenue and expenses at Althea.

Secretary
Ginny found Althea in 2016 and dove in headfirst to its amazing community. She currently serves as Board Secretary and is committed to Althea's mindful yet robust growth and continued diversity. In the working world, Ginny gets excited about empowering healthier humans as the Executive Director of Healthy Learning Paths, which brings custom health curriculum into schools along the Front Range, pre-K through high school. Ginny has 25+ years working in the corporate world, for-profit and nonprofit. Her degrees are a BS Finance and an MBA Entrepreneurship, and she is a champion of the Denver/Boulder startup community, especially around empowering entrepreneurial women. Ginny is an almost-native to Colorado, with 25 years in Denver. She is married to a wonderful guy from Texas, and they have an effervescent and unstoppable 11-year-old, Naomi. Family time with her husband and daughter are top of the list, but more stamps on her passport are always a good thing.

Board Member
Charlie was initially drawn to the Althea Center by an insatiable curiosity regarding human existence and purpose, a youthful resentment towards organized religion, and a calling to want to experience the interconnectedness of life through spiritual engagement and community. After attending a couple of services, he was hooked and has been coming back for years ever since. He joined the board in January of 2020, where he brings his “early millennial” perspectives, ideas, and skillsets to the Althea leadership team in various capacities. Charlie’s education and experience in healthcare, through his doctorate in pharmacy (PharmD) and decade-long practice as a hospital-based clinical pharmacy specialist, has made him a point person for the health and safety of the Althea community. Additionally, his background with computers and recent career shift into healthcare technology have helped the center to progress in new and advanced ways. He’s a vegetarian, a cat-lover, a life-long learner, a Grateful Dead fanatic, and a hardcore metaphysics enthusiast.

Board Member
Darrell is grateful for the opportunity to serve on the Althea Center Board of Directors. For the past 24 years, Darrell has worked as a Board Member and Resident Manager of Chesney-Kleinjohn Apartments, providing affordable housing to individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Darrell has served on the Boards of other Non-profits within the LGBTQ Community such as Denver Gay Men’s Chorus and LambdaCom, which produced the TV Shows The Lambda Report and Colorado OutSpoken. He has sung with many Choruses in Denver and the metro area and currently sings with Sage Singers and The Boulder Chorale.

Board Member
Bob is very excited to become a Board Member at Althea! The very first time he and his
husband, Jerry, attended Althea during a visit to Denver in 2019, he knew it would be his
spiritual home as soon as they relocated to Denver. Bob became interested in Eastern
Philosophy/Religions after living in Korea and Japan from 1967-1970. His search for a place in
the US where he would feel at home finally happened in 1989 when a New Thought center in
San Francisco “found” him. He became a licensed Religious Science Practitioner in 1991 and
absolutely loves that way that the Althea community is so open, inclusive, and dedicated to
exploring the mystical teaching of all religions.
Bob has served on Boards at other SpiritualCommunities for many years as Treasurer, Vice President, and President and looks forward with love and excitement, to continue growing spiritually through being a part of this amazing Community. Now almost fully “retired” Bob enjoys exploring Denver (still searching for new bakeries, and ice cream parlors), reading, and weaving on Lilla, his Swedish loom.
