ALTHEA DIRECTOR

Dr. Jonathan Ellerby - Spiritual Director

Ordained as an Interfaith Minister, Jonathan has a PhD in Comparative Religion and is trained as a coach, chaplain, and counselor. He has devoted more than 25 years to studying the world’s religious traditions and spiritual practices and has led numerous ceremonies and retreats.

A two-time bestselling Hay House author, Jonathan has been featured as an expert of Spirituality, Interfaith Perspectives, and Integrative Health in print, films, and on radio and TV.  With a long career as a beloved speaker, he brings a unique, dynamic, and practical approach to his ministry and spiritual leadership. Jonathan is known for his sense of humor, his "down to earth" approach, and his loving attitude to life and leadership.

As an expression of his passion for facilitation and creative business development, Jonathan has worked extensively in the fields of organizational development and innovation consulting and has served in management positions. Most notably, Jonathan was the Spiritual Program Director for Canyon Ranch Health Resorts, served as the CEO of TAO Inspired Living - a Mexican Wellness Retreat Community, and was the Senior Director of Organizational Development for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority where he managed a program that served 30,000 staff in 130 locations. Jonathan’s consulting clients have included Pepsico, Kraft, Honda, Goldman Sachs, the US Navy, the US Forest Service, and many others.

Rick Kitzman - President

Rick has been a seeker of spiritual truth since 1993 and brings to the Althea Center many years of

experience in Human Resources and Training, and as a professional writer. He also leads Althea

Center's Prayer Partners, a healing division of Althea and available to anyone needing affirmative

prayers for life’s challenges. Rick would like to see our beautiful sanctuary restored to its original

splendor, but knows the true legacy of the founding Brooks sisters is the spiritual community they

built. He is proud to be a part of sustaining that community for future generations to live and learn

about Love, Peace, and Oneness.

David Chapman - Treasurer

Before retiring in 2013, David had worked over 30 years in banking and finance, specifically in the areas of consumer and corporate lending, collections, and financial management. Being in nature is what drives and empowers David’s spirit. He has been a member of Althea since 2017. The strong feeling of community, the opportunities for involvement and contributing to the community, and the Sunday Service messages that have had significant impact for his own spiritual growth, are what attracted him to Althea. Currently serving as Treasurer, David wants to insure financial stability and the accurate management and reporting of all revenue and expenses at Althea.

Ginny Castleberry - Secretary

Ginny has a corporate background as a leader of teams and a business developer, combining financial finesse with an entrepreneurial spirit. She has a great love for professional speaking, both up on the stage herself and teaching others the confidence and opportunity that speaking brings to our lives. She has been a member of Althea since 2016, when she walked in the door and found her spiritual home. At Althea, Ginny currently works with the Fundraising Team, where the goal is to grow financial stability for Althea for another 100 years to come.

Charlie Foster

Charlie was initially drawn to the Althea Center by an insatiable curiosity regarding human existence and purpose, a youthful resentment towards organized religion, and a calling to want to experience the interconnectedness of life through spiritual engagement and community. After attending a couple of services, he was hooked and has been coming back for years ever since. He joined the board in January of 2020, where he brings his “early millennial” perspectives, ideas, and skillsets to the Althea leadership team in various capacities. Charlie’s education and experience in healthcare, through his doctorate in pharmacy (PharmD) and decade-long practice as a hospital-based clinical pharmacy specialist, has made him a point person for the health and safety of the Althea community. Additionally, his background with computers and recent career shift into healthcare technology have helped the center to progress in new and advanced ways. He’s a vegetarian, a cat-lover, a life-long learner, a Grateful Dead fanatic, and a hardcore metaphysics enthusiast.

Darrell Johnson

Darrell is grateful for the opportunity to serve on the Althea Center Board of Directors.  For the past 24 years, Darrell has worked as a Board Member and Resident Manager of Chesney-Kleinjohn Apartments, providing affordable housing to individuals living with HIV/AIDS.  Darrell has served on the Boards of other Non-profits within the LGBTQ Community such as Denver Gay Men’s Chorus and LambdaCom, which produced the TV Shows The Lambda Report and Colorado OutSpoken.  He has sung with many Choruses in Denver and the metro area and currently sings with Sage Singers and The Boulder Chorale.

Sarma Ilgenfritz

Susan Stites

Susan comes to Althea with a background in marketing and coaching. She was the President of the Art Directors Club of Denver and holds Master’s Degrees in Organizational Coaching and Philosophy & Film. Susan brings her experience as an organizational leader and creative entrepreneur to Althea’s outreach efforts, gatherings, and administrative management. She loves engaging with the Althea community.
